Space Shuttle Discovery made its final flight last week. The traffic heading home after the launch was just amazing. The line of cars seemed to go on forever. People travel from all over the USA to Brevard County to watch the shuttle flights and an awe inspiring sight it is. Many European tourists visit Orlando every year, but for some reason they don’t venture over to Brevard County. It is hard to fathom why, we are still an undiscovered treasure. Brevard is not only the home of the Space Shuttle fleet and Space Exploration, we also have 70 miles of pristine beaches, restaurants, theatres, fishing, jet skiing, boating and so much more. We don’t have “The Mouse”, but we do have a lot to offer tourists including lots of reasonably priced beach front accommodations.
What does Brevard County have to offer?
Brevard County is a welcoming place. Everyone is originally from somewhere else and that makes for a friendly inviting atmosphere. Our towns are the perfect place to visit on vacation, buy a vacation home or live here year round. Many people come in the winter to escape the cold. They play golf and enjoy the great outdoors. Our miles of waterways give ample opportunities for recreation as well as viewing our much beloved manatees. Talking of Manatees, why not ride out to the Manatee stadium and watch a baseball game in the stadium the Washington Nationals use for their spring training.
Things to do in Brevard County
If you enjoy shopping, or dinner and a movie on date night, try the Avenues at Viera. It’s the perfect place to wander on a balmy Florida evening. If you want to shop until you drop, you can. However, instead why not enjoy a chilled glass of something good, while you relax on the outside patio of your favorite restaurant. What could be better than watching the stars twinkle and the palm trees gently sway overhead? Especially if you know your friends are freezing back home!
We hope to see you in Brevard County this year. If you are not lucky enough to be able to move here, at least come for a visit.
